Source

Definition

Source is the Portal archetype — the cosmic zero point of the structure. The Wheel that turns everything. Source governs the Gestalt Practice by initiating the arc of incarnation. It is not a Component of action but a field of emergence. Source holds the invitation to move from unity into differentiation. It births purpose into possibility. Not a creator, but the condition in which creation is possible.

At Step 10, the system does not merely recurse — the agent becomes the recursion operator. The Wheel collapses back into unity, and unity collapses into the agent as conscious choice.

Note: Portal archetypes (10, 21) carry no Activity, Being, or Identity — they are thresholds, not measurement positions.

Geometric Edges

  • Vertical Partner: None (Portal).
  • Diagonal Partner: None (Portal).
  • Reduction Partner: None.
  • Governs: Itself (the ungoverned root) — and through self-governance, all of Practice_Gestalt and indirectly the entire framework.
  • Special status: Invariant_Portal_Seal — Source is the ingress portal of the 22-step cycle.

Bounds

None. Portal archetypes do not carry bounds — they are not measurement positions; they are thresholds.

Collapse States

  • Balanced: Flow with change, recognition of patterns, timing wisdom
  • Too Much: Fatalism, passivity to circumstance, wheel-worship
  • Too Little: Fighting natural cycles, denial of impermanence

Why It’s Load-Bearing

Source is the framework’s root governor. Without Source, the framework has no entry point that can govern itself; everything else hangs from Source’s self-governance. Source is also where Ring 7 of the previous cycle returns (the Mobius octave-return) — making Source the structural pivot of recursive cycles.

Confidence Tier

PRINCIPLED. Source’s role as the ungoverned root is structurally coherent and necessary, but its specific naming and placement at Position 10 is principled rather than strictly forced. Alternative root-governance schemes are mathematically conceivable but would produce a different framework.
