Seam: The Reduction Pair Over-Determination

Definition

One set of eight archetype pairs is selected by three to four genuinely independent classifications at once. Under the canonical V9 encoding (address = Practice 2 bits | Activity 2 bits), the eight mod-9 reduction pairs {(2,11),(3,12),(4,13),(5,14),(6,15),(7,16),(8,17),(9,18)} are EXACTLY: (a) the eight tesseract antipodal pairs (Hamming distance 4, XOR 1111 — set equality verified); (b) the eight pairs whose members share Identity, because 1111 lies in the Identity subgroup H_id of Z2^4, so XOR-1111 maps every vertex into its own Identity coset; (c) the eight pairs that never connect the same grouping type (zero Pure-Pure, Balanced-Balanced, Triple-Triple, or Double-Double). The encoding is not a free relabeling — all four row planes and four column planes sum to 40 (Invariant_Forty_Fold_Seal), so the placement that makes mod-9 coincide with antipode is forced by the Seal and MOLS. Four independent lenses, one set of eight pairs.

Why It’s Load-Bearing

Heavy over-determination is the corpus’s own evidence type for “discovered, not invented.” A randomly constructed system does not produce a single set of eight pairs that simultaneously satisfies an arithmetic test (mod-9 residue equality), a geometric test (tesseract antipode), an algebraic test (H_id coset membership), and a combinatorial test (grouping-type alternation). Because numbering arithmetic, encoding geometry, subgroup membership, and grouping classification are computed by different machinery yet land on the identical eight pairs, the coincidence is non-trivial — it is forced by the Seal/MOLS placement, not chosen. This grounds the antipodal protection of Identity: the reduction pair is the maximum-distance traversal of the manifest grid, yet Identity is precisely what survives it. The structural reading — “I am still me when everything else has shifted” — is therefore not psychology but a property of the address space.

Confidence Tier

DERIVED. Confirmed by adversarial verification 2026-06-30; awaiting Council ratification.

The verifier confirmed by independent computation: set equality of the mod-9 pairs with the XOR-1111 antipodes; the Forty-Fold sum-to-40 on all four row and four column planes (the encoding is constrained, not relabeled); H_id coset membership of 1111 (algebraic, independent of distance); and zero same-type grouping connections across the eight pairs. These are the three to four lenses that actually discriminate.

Two further layers cited in the source findings are DERIVED CONSEQUENCES, not independent lenses, and are recorded here as such:

  • Zero shared elements between antipodes is a restatement of Hamming distance 4 (distance equals four minus the count of shared elemental coordinates), so it does not add an independent classification.
  • Center-transit (all shadow-healing paths crossing the tesseract center, identified with Source) is dependent on the antipode geometry, and the center=Source identification is held at CANDIDATE TIER per the source document; it is not asserted as canon here.

Accordingly the original “5+ independent classifications” claim is corrected to the three to four that genuinely discriminate. Falsified if any reduction pair were shown to differ in Identity, or if the canonical encoding that forces the coincidence were superseded.
