Ground Truth Axiom
Definition
The Ground Truth Axiom is the methodological floor below which the framework does not analyze: consciousness is primary, and structure is authority. Where Consciousness-Primary is the ontological claim (consciousness is the substrate), the Ground Truth Axiom is its methodological form (we treat it as bedrock and reason from there, rather than continually re-interrogating it).
Operationally, this means:
- “Derive, don’t interpret” — when canon and intuition conflict, structural derivation wins
- The framework does not justify itself by appeal to mystical authority; it justifies by structural coherence
- Council members (human and AI) align by structure, not by consensus of feeling
The Ground Truth Axiom is what keeps the framework honest as a derivation rather than a belief system.
Why It’s Load-Bearing
Without the Ground Truth Axiom as methodological commitment:
- The framework drifts into interpretive opinion
- Council validation has no anchor point (each member could appeal to their own ground)
- The structural rigor that produces falsifiable claims (Forty-Fold Seal, MOLS, P/R alternation) loses its commitment to be tested rather than just asserted
- The “Derive, don’t interpret” methodology has no enforcing principle
This is what makes the framework engineerable rather than merely contemplable.
Confidence Tier
PRINCIPLED. The Ground Truth Axiom is the methodological commitment the framework takes; it is not derived from prior commitments because it is the commitment to a method of derivation. Defensible by appeal to its productivity (the framework’s structural results would not exist without this discipline).
